Nestled in the stunning Mid Devon hills, close to the pretty hamlet of Stoodleigh, sits Hawke Barn, a 16th century former storage and threshing barn for Thorne Farm. The farm was for many years owned by Balliol College, Oxford. From the moment you turn onto the half mile private drive you will be enveloped by the peace, tranquillity, and beautiful scenery that surround you in every direction.

Today Hawke Barn has been beautifully renovated creating an intimate space for impressive entertaining for weddings, birthday celebrations or any special event or occasion for up to 60 guests.

Hawke barn is a beautiful 16th century building which oozes rustic charm. Exposed heavy oak beams, a high open-vaulted ceiling, exposed stonework, flagstone floors and contemporary full-height windows allow a flood of natural warm light and combine to create a stunning venue for all styles of weddings and celebration. The timeless and natural aesthetic of the barn lends itself to any number of décor ideas, enabling you or your wedding planner to really let the imagination run wild.

The main doors open out to the sheltered and landscaped south facing private courtyard, and an impressive cluster of mature Beech trees overlook from the southwest boundary with the horses looking out from their stable windows form the distant backdrop.

Guests can mingle freely between barn and courtyard creating a relaxed & sociable vibe perfect for any occasion. The calm ambience and idyllic rural surrounds complete with seating and terraces, where guests can naturally gather in fine weather ensures that guests are never far from the celebrations.
